Valve is expected to launch "Left 4 Dead 3" at the upcoming E3 2016 in Los Angeles next month, if rumors turn out to be true.

The game developer remains mum about the development of the third installment from the "Left 4 Dead" series. But fans saw a flicker of hope when a job listing found on the website of co-developer Turtle Rock Studios implied that they are looking for a new animation programmer who will work on an unannounced new project.

According to the job listing, the game studio is looking for an individual who is knowledgeable with "procedural/physically altered animation techniques" as well as "cinematics and facial animation." They also need a person who already worked using any AAA game engine such as the Unreal Engine 4 or CryEngine.

However, Turtle Rock Studio has yet to confirm the fans' speculations since they already announced in February 2015 through Xbox Achievements that they are not planning to develop another "Left 4 Dead" game.

"I think we're pretty much done with it," Turtle Rock Studios co-founder Phil Robb said. "It's Valve's thing now. We've kind of gone off in our own direction. So I'd kinda like to see something new being done with it, and Valve always does great stuff, but it'd be cool to go back to it as just a fan and not a developer. But I doubt you'll see anything from us."

Meanwhile, a report published by Express UK in early January 2016 revealed that the next installment of "Left 4 Dead" will be released sometime in 2017. It will also reportedly feature four new characters, including the only female character that will be called Katherine, the gangster named Irvin, the popular Kenpo fighter named Garrett Jr., and the comic book nerd named Keenan.

Valve has yet to confirm the reports.
