'Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' release date: Game may not be set for March 2017 release alongside Nintendo NX

"Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will be released to the Nintendo NX, but it may not be a launch title for the mysterious new console after all.

Finder.com stated that the game is not exactly set for a March 2017 release, which is when the Nintendo NX is rumored to be unveiled.

This is based on an advertisement the publication came across (but did not provide a link or photo of) which showed only a "2017" launch instead of a more specific March 2017 launch.

The site surmised that while "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will be released to the NX, it might not be a launch title like how everyone was expecting it to be.

Nintendo has kept its cards close to its chest when it comes to the new "Legend of Zelda" game and its next-generation console, although based on a slip-up by Nintendo itself, they are planning to roll out both in March 2017.

Finder.com brought into play the possibility that Nintendo only set a launch target for "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," which is March 2017, but they still made sure that they have the liberty to change it if needed.

This makes it seem like Link's new adventure is not exactly a launch title, but Nintendo hopes that it will be ready in time to be one as it will definitely boost the sales performance of the Nintendo NX.

"Legends of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" was supposed to be released this year, but Nintendo opted to wait for the Nintendo NX instead.

There was no mention of issues with the game's development, which means the delay was probably required so that the game will be available to the Nintendo NX as well.

This is the same method that the company did with "Twilight Princess," which was only released for the GameCube, although it was delayed and ended up being the launch title for the Wii U as well.

This could be Nintendo doing the same thing for "Legends of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" as it has been proven effective. However, the company is also making sure not to commit to a specific date in the event that the game is not completed on time.
