The 19th installment in "The Legend of Zelda" video game franchise is currently in development, but fans are already looking forward to finding out more about the game's content. 

Based on earlier reports, the action-adventure game that will be released for the Wii U console from Nintendo will be the first game from the franchise that will come out with high-definition graphics. However, fans would like to find out if the upcoming "Zelda" game will also support amiibo toys upon release. 

At the moment, the upcoming "Zelda" game is not yet included in the list of Wii U game titles that support amiibo toys. The only video games for Wii U that have amiibo characters are "Super Smash Bros. for Wii U," "Mario Kart 8," "Hyrule Warriors," "Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker," "Kirby and the Rainbow Curse," "Mario Party 10," "Amiibo tap: Nintendo's Greatest Bits," "Splatoon," "Yoshi's Woolly World," "Super Mario Maker," "Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games," "Star Fox Zero," as well as "Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival." 

"The Legend of Zelda" is noticeably absent from the list, and there are no official announcements yet regarding the possibility of support for toy-to-life figurines. But according to a report posted in iDigital Times, Nintendo might consider creating amiibo figures for the title. 

According to the report, it is only reasonable to see a toy figurine based on the overworld action-adventure game since amiibo toys can already be considered as one of Nintendo's most lucrative products. It is not hard to imagine the amiibo counterparts of the characters featured in the "Zelda" Wii U video game despite its signature serious undertones. 

Elsewhere, Nintendo also revealed to Business Insider that they could eventually think about bringing the game to its next generation console called Nintendo NX upon its release.
