Following the casting of Falk Hentschel as Hawkman for The CW's "Legends of Tomorrow," it has now been revealed that Danish actor Casper Crump has been cast as the series' main villain, the immortal fiend known as Vandal Savage.

According to a report from Variety, the actor will first appear in the next season of "Arrow" and "The Flash" before "Legends of Tomorrow" debuts, similar to how White Canary, Hawkman, and Hawkgirl will make their debut as well.

This will also mark the first live-action appearance of the villain Vandal Savage. The character did pop up in "Smallville," played by former "Superman" actor Dean Cain, but he went by a different name and had a slightly different story to be rated as a different character.

Vandal Savage appeared in several DC animated projects such as "Justice League: Doom" and "Young Justice." However, in these appearances he was mostly delegated to a minor role instead of being a primary villain.

Vandal Savage is a 6,000-year-old immortal with one single goal: to rule the world. He does so by carefully becoming an advisor to world leaders and dictators, whispering into their ears as he lays out his plans to rule the world behind the scenes.

Producer Greg Berlanti explained that Vandal Savage will be a "big character who hasn't been used yet" on either "Arrow" or "The Flash." Berlanti also stated that the main priority is "making sure that the villain we have on that show is distinct."

Crump will be joining Caity Lotz (White Canary), Brandon Routh (ATOM), Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (Heat Wave), Ciara Renee (Hawkgirl), Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter), and Victor Garber (Firestorm).

Casper Crump will also star in 2016's live-action "Tarzan" film which is being directed by David Yates. Crump will star alongside Margot Robbie, Cristoph Waltz, and Alexander Skarsgard.
