Originally poised for a January 2016 release, the much-awaited "Arrow/ The Flash" spinoff titled "Legends of Tomorrow" was pushed back to a spring release. Without making a fuss about the delay, the writers for the upcoming series sent out a tweet, which has since been deleted.

The CW is yet to specify a release date for the show although it looked like the series was set to premiere during the midseason hiatus of its parent series. However, it looks like there has been a change of plans, but the team behind the spin-off isn't making a big deal about it.

According to Screenrant, "Legends of Tomorrow" may have encountered a production-related issue that's big enough to change its release date. The site surmised that it may be about the sprawling animation and special effects that the show requires.

For now, fans can expect the super-charged get-together of superheroes and villains for a time-bending adventure to happen as early as March. Some are even convinced that The CW itself isn't sure when to bring the motley pack to the small screen.

In other related "Legends of Tomorrow" news, Deadline wrote in an exclusive report that the series is welcoming a new showrunner. Joining executive producers Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, Marc Guggenheim and Sarah Schechter is Berlanti's trusty writer-producer Phil Klemmer.

The new EP on the block has shown that he is very capable of handling the new DC Comics-inspired series with his work on "The Tomorrow People," "Golden Boy" and "Political Animals," which, of course, were produced by Berlanti Prods. Also included in his resume is "Veronica Mars" and "Chuck."

"Legends of Tomorrow" stars Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter), Victor Garber (Dr. Martin Stein), Caity Lotz (White Canary), Brandon Routh (The ATOM), Ciara Renee (Hawkgirl), Jay Jackson (Franz Drameh), Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold), and Dominic Purcell (Heat Wave).

He synopsis reads: "When heroes alone are not enough... the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?"
