The unlikely group of superheroes and villains managed to kill Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) during the first season finale of "DC's Legends of Tomorrow," but the time travelling heroes are expected to take on a new mission in season 2.

In an interview with IGN, showrunner Phil Klemmer revealed that the plot for season 2 will be entirely different compared to the first one.

"We're coming at it from a completely different angle. We're determined to make every part of Season 2 feel like its own show," the showrunner stated. "Episode 201 will very much be a new pilot with new good guys, new bad guys, new stakes, new dynamics, new goals. Once you save the world, what do you do then?"

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim also revealed some of the plans for the second season of "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. According to Guggenheim, the series will soon introduce several members of the legendary Justice Society of America in season 2.

However, the executive producer opted not to divulge who among the members of the JSA will be featured on the show next season, but Rex Tyler/Hourman (Patrick J. Adams) already came out in the first season finale to warn the team of their upcoming death.

Also, Guggenheim revealed that the next big bad in season 2 will be worse than Vandal Savage.

"I will say literally the threat that Vandal Savage posed it's going to seem small in comparison," he said. "That's not even hyperbole, and you know I'm prone to hyperbole. People will be saying 'Vandal who?' by the time the big bad of season 2 is fully explored or fully revealed."

The second season of "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" is slated to return on The CW this fall.
