'Legends of Tomorrow' season 2 spoilers: Laurel and Sara to reunite?

The Flash - Black SirenThe CW

Speaking to Fangirlish, actress Katie Cassidy hinted that there may be a possibility of her reprising her role as Laurel Lance in "Legends of Tomorrow," the spin-off series which was borne from the success of "Arrow" and "The Flash." However, if she would return she stated she may do so as her Earth-2 evil doppelganger and not as Black Canary.

The character Laurel Lance has been one of the main characters of "Arrow" season 1 and in later seasons she evolved into the vigilante hero known as Black Canary. However, by season 4 she was surprisingly killed off by the main villain, Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough).

Cassidy did get to reprise her role in "The Flash" season 2, during the penultimate episode, but not as Black Canary. Instead, she got to portray Laurel's Earth-2 doppelganer, a villain known as Black Siren. At the end of the episode the Flash (Grant Gustin) and his allies managed to imprison Black Siren, hinting she may yet return in the future.

According to the actress it would also be preferrable if she were to come back in "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 instead of "Arrow" season 5 or "The Flash" season 3. This is because "Legends of Tomorrow" has Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), Laurel's sister, as one of the main characters and it would be interesting to see Sara see her sister's doppleganger.

"Hopefully we'll get to see more of her," Cassidy stated in regards to Black Siren. "I mean emotionally it would be more difficult for Sara to see her sister like that. Because Laurel of Earth-1 doesn't really have a bad bone in her body. I think she means well and has a good heart. So to see this side of her, it's not really Laurel. It's the antithesis."

Neither the CW Network nor the showrunners for "Arrow" and "Legends of Tomorrow" have yet confirmed if Black Siren could make an appearance in the shows' upcoming seasons, which are set to premiere in October.
