DC's television universe is currently doing well on The CW, with the successful runs of "Arrow" and "The Flash." But the network and DC Entertainment are both working to further expand the fictional universe by introducing another sci-fi superhero series called "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" in early 2016. 

"Legend's of Tomorrow" will feature some of the heroes and nemeses from the first two shows. Sara Lance/ White Canary (Caity Lotz) and Ray Palmer/ Atom (Brandon Routh) from "Arrow" will both be in the new series, and they will be joined by Martin Stein/ Firestorm (Victor Garber), Leonard Snart/ Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Mick Rory/ Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), and Kendra Saunders/ Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee) from "The Flash." 

The superheroes and supervillains will be gathered by Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) as he travels back in time to form a group that can help stop Vandal Savage from messing up with time and ultimately destroying the world. 

Series showrunner Phil Klemmer recently told Screen Rant that the characters in the upcoming series can be compared to the characters in "Oceans 11," since a team of anti-heroes and misfits will have to work together in a very difficult mission. Klemmer said that "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" will feature the strange set-up among the characters.

"It is almost like a family dynamic between people who can't get along but are forced to get along because they're stuck in this stupid time travel spaceship and having to save the world," he said, adding that while the anti-heroes are working together to save mankind, they will not always agree.

"I think when they are all hanging out, you can't help but have people who are that different have fundamental disagreements about the stupidest of things," Klemmer said. 

He also mentioned that this is a group that will be called to save the world, but it is still composed of individuals who will always have a devious agenda on the side. 

"I like that they are selfish and petty and human. Those are the kind of heroes that I enjoy writing," the series showrunner shared. 

Meanwhile, British actor Arthur Darvill who portrays the role of Rip Hunter earlier revealed that the cameras will start filming "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" in August, and the series might air in January next year.
