'Legends of Tomorrow' spoilers: Sara Lance has new love interest

CW

"Legends of Tomorrow" will be bringing in Caity Lotz back as Sara Lance. But she will no longer be the Black Canary given that her sister is donning the black suit now, and instead she will be known as the White Canary. According to a report from Entertainment Weekly she will also have a new love interest.

According to the report, actress Ali Liebert will be portraying Lindsay Carlisle. Lindsay is described as a soft-spoken woman who is said to be a perfect representation of women from the 1950s. However, she is also keeping a secret. The report reveals that Lindsay is a lesbian and is confused about her preferences.

Given that "Legends of Tomorrow" is about a group of time-travelling superheroes the series will put together Lindsay and Sara, a girl from the future. The fact that Sara's recent resurrection has affected her mind and emotional outlook in life will be tackled in the series as well.

"She's been consumed by a quest for bloodshed and incapable of having romantic feelings for anyone," explained executive producer Phil Klemmer about Sara's outlook. "The strict social norms of the fifties makes this the last place Sara Lance would ever expect to find love with a young, closeted nurse, but that's how love works — it finds you."

Klemmer continued to explain that when Sara meets Lindsay she will realize it is the first time in a long time that she feels any genuine feelings for someone. However, the issue is whether or not an assassin, who has no problem killing hundreds of others, could care for just one person.

Sara Lance was previously romantically involved with Oliver Queen aka the Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) and later with Nyssa al Ghul (Katrina Law). Both relationships did not end nicely for Sara and this may also negatively affect her emotional well-being.

"Legends of Tomorrow" will premiere Jan. 21, 2016.
