Changing an event in the past results in a chain reaction of events in the present, especially if it involves someone's tragic fate. Spoilers for next Tuesday's episode of "Legends of Tomorrow" season 3 reveal that the team will go back in time to prevent a death from happening.

The official synopsis of the upcoming episode, titled "Phone Home" reveals that the legends will learn about the looming demise of Ray Palmer a.k.a. Atom (Brandon Routh). Palmer's death in particular will be the result of the legends breaking time. This leads the team to travel back in order to save him.

However, when they are able to get back to that point in time, they discover that the young Ray Palmer has made friends with a time-displayed baby Dominator. This unlikely friendship will end up getting him into trouble with the government as well as the mother of the Dominator.

Apart from trying to save Ray from a terrible fate, Stein (Victor Garber) is revealed to have something up his sleeve. What Stein has in mind also happens to make both Jax (Franz Drameh) and Rory (Dominic Purcell) uncomfortable.

Meanwhile, Zari (Tala Ashe), who was introduced in the previous episode, is still trying to adjust and get comfortable with her team.

The previous episode had the Legends finding the resurrected Kuasa (Tracy Ifeachor) in a dystopian future where metahumans and religion were considered as outlaws. This place proved to be dangerous for Zari, who also happened to be a Muslim hacker who took her brother's place in wearing the Air Totem. Similar to Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), who wore the Anansi Totem, Kuasa wore the Water Totem. The three were all connected, which turned out to be the reason why Kuasa was trying to hunt Zari down.

However, when the Time Bureau stepped in, Sara (Caity Lotz) decided not to turn Zari in. She knew that she would just be sent back to live under martial law with A.R.G.U.S where they would experiment on her. This led the Time Bureau to track the Legends down.

According to the show's executive producer Marc Guggenheim, speaking to Entertainment Weekly, this will play a role in the upcoming episode but not in the way fans would expect. Rory has ideas about what it means to be outlaws. He added that the Legends being outlaws is not a big subplot, but there some complications and those are what Zari has been dealing with, so she manages to get by in this situation.
