The "Legends of Tomorrow" series has travelled through several time periods and has shown multiple versions of the future, but episode 11, titled "The Magnificent Eight," the team will be traveling back even further in time to the Old West where they will meet the hero Jonah Hex, played by Johnathon Schaech. 

According to the official synopsis just recently released by Comic Book Resources, the team heads to Old West in a move to hide. It is not revealed who the team is hiding from, although many have speculated that they are hiding from a pursuing group of Time Lords or from Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) himself.

While hiding in the Old West time period, the group accidentally starts a fight with a local gang and this puts the small town in danger. While it looks like the team may be facing a lot of heat, Jonah Hex will step in to save the day. However, the more peculiar detail from the synopsis is that it states Jonah Hex and Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) are close friends.

Screen Rant reports that it is entirely possible that Rip Hunter has travelled to the Old West before, which may explain why he chose the time period to hide from any pursuers, although the report points out that in the comic books Jonah Hex himself is a time-travelling gunslinger. This indicates it is entirely possible that Jonah Hex has met Rip Hunter in the far future.

This isn't the first time that the character has seen a live-action adaptation. A "Jonah Hex" movie was released several years back, starring Josh Brolin as the titular character, but the film was widely panned by critics and casual audiences alike. 

According to the report, if this version of Jonah Hex proves successful, it is within the realm of possibility that the studios may green-light a solo "Jonah Hex" television series. 

"Legends of Tomorrow" season 1 episode 11, "The Magnificent Eight," will air this April 14.
