One of the latest smartphone devices unveiled during the Consumer Electronics Show 2015 held last week in Las Vegas comes from Taiwanese mobile phone manufacturer Lenovo, which is supported by a faster and less battery consuming 64-bit class 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 chipset.

The new Lenovo smartphone, dubbed as the Lenovo A6000, is reportedly the latest entry-level handheld device from the company. It aims to be pitted against China's Xiaomi Redmi Note smartphone. It will reportedly come in a 5.5-inch high definition IPS display screen with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. Its overall dimension is 141.0 x 70.0 x 8.2 mm and weighs 128 grams.

The device that will be launched in India later this week is equipped with an Adreno 306 GPU, 1 GB RAM and an 8 GB storage capacity expandable with the help of a microSD slot. It uses a 2300 mAh battery that can last up to 13 hours of talk time and 264 hours of standby time. It also runs using the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system with the signature Lenovo Vibe UI v2.0. Also, this budget smartphone from the Taiwanese electronics giant features an 8-megapixel primary shooter with LED flash plus a 2-megapixel secondary front-facing shooter meant for taking selfies.

The Lenovo A6000 will come out on Jan. 16 in India, and it will be exclusively distributed by Flipkart in the country for less than 10,000 Indian rupees. This is to compete against the leading budget-level smartphones in that market, including the Redmi Note 4G from Xiaomi as well as Micromax's bestselling device Yu Yureka.

Speculations are saying that the device will cost at least Rs 8,900 in the Indian market, but Lenovo has yet to confirm or deny the rumored price range of their upcoming handset. Once the Lenovo A6000 is released in the United States, the company will reportedly give it a price tag of $169.
