Photos of what is allegedly the Lenovo Vibe X2 were leaked by a Chinese blogger, although the device is expected to be officially released at the IFA 2014 conference in Berlin this week.

According to yet another blog post, as translated using Google Translate, the device has a 5-inch screen that boasts 1080-pixel resolution and is only 7.27 millimeters thick. It mentions a mobile version which is equipped with a MediaTek MT6595M eight-core processor, a 2GB RAM, and a 16GB or 32GB built-in storage. It also says that there is a Unicorn version that has a 2.2 GHz dual-core processor.

After careful scrutiny of the images, GSM Arena noticed the unique feature on the side, which looks like three sheets of metal of different colors placed on top of the other. The publication also said that the device will have 5MP front-facing camera and a 13MP rear-facing camera with LED flash.

At any rate, smartphone/ phablet fans will be able to see the Vibe X2 as part Lenovo's exhibit at the IFA conference in Berlin. The company chose to be as cryptic as Apple when it comes to details, even mimicking the Cupertino-based company's invitation, but it clearly mentions the name of the device.

Apple's invitation to its Sept. 9 press event says, "9.9.2014.Wish we could say more." Lenovo's invitation, on the other hand, says, "9.4.2014.We can't say anything either."

The invitation features a swirly lollipop image with Vibe X2 printed on it, which makes people wonder whether this refers to Google's latest Android L OS.
