Lenovo Vibe X2 Lenovo

Lenovo is one of the eager participants of the recent IFA trade show held in Berlin where it introduced its latest smartphone – Vibe X2.

There is no denying that Lenovo Vibe X2 is a smartphone with fair specs and features. However, based on the specifications of the device, it may fall short in many areas. However, the Lenovo Vibe X2 packs some unique features rarely seen in other smartphones in the market. Below are the three head turning features of the Lenovo Vibe X2 announced at the IFA 2014 event in Berlin.

Octa-core processor

Lenovo Vibe X2 is the first smartphones to debut the MediaTek's octa-core MT6595 SoC. The processor is composed of four high-performance Cortex A17 cores along with four energy efficient Cortex A7 cores. This guarantees fast and efficient performance from the handset.

Vibe extensions

One of the notable features of the new Vibe X smartphone from Lenovo is its accessories. The Vibe X2 comes with a feature called Vibe Xtensions, which are magnetic connectors located at the back of the device meant for click-on accessories. Two of the accessories introduced at launch are the extended battery pack and speaker. The accessories were specifically-designed to add another layer to the multi-layer design of the handset. The battery pack boasts to extend the battery life of the handset by 75 percent. The speaker, on the other hand, was aimed at music lovers and comes with a built-in stand.

5 MP front camera

Another feature that made Lenovo beat other smartphones at the recent IFA 2014 trade show is its front-facing camera. The handset included a 5 MP camera on the front perfect for video calls and selfie.

Lenovo Vibe X2 will be rolled out in phases. First is in its home court in China, and will be subsequently released in Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. There is no word yet as to when the smartphone will hit the US shores. The smartphone will be available for $399.
