The stakes in "Lethal Weapon" season 2 are about to become higher, as Riggs (Clayne Crawford) and Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) will investigate a murder which took place 20,000 feet in the air. 

The promotional trailer for episode 4 of the second season reveals a man (Adrian Pasdar) who robs the wealthy passengers of a private plane and parachutes away after stealing their valuables. Complications arise when one of the victims tries to stop the thief but eventually falls off the plane without a parachute. Episode 4 also involves a father-daughter story, as one witness to the thief's crime is his very own daughter, turning a murder investigation into a hunt for the girl's father.

As usual, Riggs is thrilled about the case; he insensitively comments that incidents perpetrated by "lunatics" were what put him in his line of work as a police officer. He is also excited by the fact that they rarely investigate a crime scene where the perpetrator parachuted off. Murtaugh, on the other hand, is not as excited as his partner since he is dealing with family problems himself.

Murtaugh will be facing his daughter's ire as he tries to connect with her. Whether this will affect Murtaugh's relationship with Riggs or his performance as a cop in the episode remains to be seen.

Fans of Riggs wondering why the character grew up to be the way he is will be appeased in the next episode, as his father Nathan (Rex Linn) will be appearing on the show for the first time. Linn will also be a season regular starting episode 4 and will be in flashbacks set in Texas, alongside a younger Riggs (Chase Mangum). This reunion will signal the in-depth exploration into Riggs' character and his present-day issues.

"Lethal Weapon" season 2, episode 4, "Flight Risk," will air on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
