Since the LG G Pad 2 is expected to be released in just a few months from now, here's the difference between the new device and its predecessor in terms of the specifications.

According to a recent leak by tech industry leaker Leaksfly, the upcoming LG G Pad 2 is expected to sport the same 8.3-inch display screen like its predecessor. In terms of the resolution, the G Pad 8.3 has a 1200 x 1920 pixel resolution, while the new G Pad 2 is expected to have a higher 1080 x 1920 resolution.

The G Pad 8.3 comes with the older Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system (OS) pre-installed, while the G Pad 2 will run on the new Android 5.1 version OS.

Inside, the G Pad 8.3 packs Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB RAM, and 16GB internal memory that can be expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card. The new G Pad 2, on the other hand, will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, a 3GB RAM, and an extended 32GB built-in memory capacity.

The G Pad 8.3 features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.3-mega pixel front-facing camera. The upcoming G Pad 2 will have an upgraded 8-mega pixel camera on the back and a 5-mega pixel camera on the front, according to recent rumors. In addition, it's still unclear how big the battery will be for the new tablet. The LG G Pad 8.3 comes with a non-removable 4,600 mAh battery.

There's still no news in regards to the price of the LG G Pad 2 tablet, but recent reports say the device is expected to be available around two years after the launch of its predecessor, which should be around October 2015.
