During the CES 2015, LG was not able to unveil its highly anticipated G4 smartphone. Instead, the successor of the South Korean's innovative G Flex device was revealed, which features a curved chassis, and has been named the G Flex 2. Since the G3 was released back in 2014, the G Flex 2 is able to overpower the smartphone due to its impressive hardware specifications.

Starting off, the G Flex possesses a 5.5 inch display that renders the 1080p display while the G3 possess the 1440p display while maintaining the same screen size as the G Flex 2. While content will look sharper on the G3, it will also have an adverse effect on the overall battery life, since it will require a lot more processing horsepower to render a densely pixilated interface. Since both smartphones pack a 3,000 mAh battery pack, it is safe to assume that the G Flex 2 will be able to provide users with far more battery life.

In addition, the chipset present in the G Flex 2 will also be contributing to both battery and performance because it is armed with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset, which features an octa-core processor that is compatible with the 64 bit chipset. Side by side, the G3 possesses a Snapdragon 801, which features a quad-core Krait 400 CPU clocked in at 2.5 GHz. The 32 GB internal variant of both smartphones will grant users access to 3 GB of RAM while purchasing a 16 GB model will only limit them to 2 GB. In any case, both smartphones will possess a microSD slot that can expand storage up to 128 GB.

Both the G Flex 2 and G3 also possess the same camera sensors, on either side of the chassis, with the same form of features, ranging from optical image stabilization, to simultaneous image and video recording right down to HDR. In terms of wireless connectivity, both devices possess the same wireless standard (802.11 ac) for Wi-Fi connectivity but the G Flex 2 is able to zip past the G3 since it possesses an LTE Cat 6 modem, compared to the Cat 4 modem on the G3. As for the pricing, the G3 carries an off-contract price tag of $579.99 while the G Flex 2 comes with stamped with a pre-order price of $504, according to The Frontier Post.

In nearly all categories, the G Flex 2 is able to overcome the capabilities of the G3, particularly the pricing part.
