LG G Pad 2 8.0 vs. Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0: A comparison of specs - powerful batteries

Last month, South Korean company Samsung Electronics unveiled and announced its latest 8.0-inch tablet, the Galaxy Tab S2, which is now available in South Korea, according to recent reports. The Galaxy Tab S2 was uncovered alongside another version that comes with a larger 9.7-inch display screen and a bigger 5,870 mAh battery.

Recently, another South Korean firm, LG Electronics, just unveiled its latest successor to the LG G Pad tablet, which was launched back in 2013. The recently released LG G Pad 2 tablet is now available in South Korea, according to Android Central, and also sports an 8.0-inch display screen like the Galaxy Tab S2.

In terms of the screen resolution, the LG G Pad 2 has 800 x 1280 pixel resolution display, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is expected to have a Super AMOLED display with a 1536 x 2048 pixel resolution.

As a mid-range tablet, the G Pad 2 has a 5-megapixel camera on the back and a 2-megapixel camera on the front. It runs on the new Android 5.0 version Lollipop operating system (OS) and inside, it packs Qualcomm's Snapdragon 400 processor along with only 1.5GB RAM and 32GB built-in memory.

On the other hand, the Galaxy Tab S2 has a powerful 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a slightly higher 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. It packs a quad-core 1.9 GHz CPU, a 3GB RAM, and up to 64GB internal memory.

In addition, Samsung's Galaxy Tab S2 is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery, according to GSM Arena, while LG's G Pad 2 comes with a slightly larger 4,200 mAh battery.

As of this time, there's no information yet on when the LG G Pad 2 will make its way out of South Korea. According to Android Central, there's a possibility that LG might release this tablet with different specs for international markets.
