PRNews Wire reports that users will also be able to receive notifications on their smartwatches now without having to connect to Bluetooth.

In addition, a recent report by Forbes added that the LG G Watch variant and the recently released LG Watch Urbane will also receive the new update over the next few weeks.

According to GSM Arena, the LG Watch Urbane, which was launched earlier this year back in March, had already enabled Wi-Fi connectivity.

In terms of the specifications, the LG G Watch R sports a 1.3-inch P-OLED display screen with a 320 x 320 pixel resolution and is covered by a stainless steel. Currently, this smartwatch supports Bluetooth LE connectivity and comes with a gyroscope, a barometer, an accelerometer, and heart rate monitoring feature.

Inside, the LG G Watch R packs a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor along with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of built-in memory storage. The LG G Watch R weighs about 62 grams and is powered by a 410 mAh battery.

Another feature included in the update, according to PRNews Wire, is the interactive watch faces, which will be available for download on Google Play. The report adds that the interactive watch interface enables users to view other information on their watches just by tapping on the screen.
