LG G Watch R vs Moto 360 specs: More than just the round face with these two wearables

The LG G Watch R and the Moto 360 are the only round-faced smartwatches in the field. Complemented with their swappable genuine leather bands and stainless steel, their looks, which resemble traditional timepieces, are what make them stand out in the market. But there are other distinct features that make these wearables poles apart, and these are what necessitates a good old showdown between the classic-looking Android Wear offerings.

Moto 360 boasts its utilization with the whole of the watch face. LG G Watch R, on the other hand, has a steel bezel around it that makes it look all the more conventional than its rival. But both the watch faces are encrusted with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Moto 360 comes with a 1.56-inch backlit round LCD display. Despite its shape, it generates a 320 x 290 pixel screen resolution and a 205 ppi pixel density. This is because of a tiny flake at the bottom of the screen that holds the ambient light sensor and display connectors. On the other hand, LG G Watch R went for a full circle Plastic-OLED display that measures 1.3 inches. This delivers 320 x 320 pixel resolution and 246 ppi pixel density, which gives the LG wearable the upper hand in this department.

Moto 360

Powered by 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, the LG G Watch R continues to dominate the showdown, beating Moto 360's Texas Instrument OMAP 3.  The good thing about them though is that they both have 4 GB memory and a 512 MB RAM under their hoods. Moreover, both are water-resistant. They can survive a meter-deep swim.

Deep within, the wearables carry some essential fitness trackers and sensors. A heart-rate sensor as well as a tracker for distance and steps taken are there. It is also as easy as saying "Okay, Google" to be able to send e-mails and pre-encoded text messages. Although armed with only a 320 mAh battery unit, the Moto 360 is almost on par in terms of its juice with LG G Watch R and its 410 mAh battery, Android Authority noted.

The Moto 360 is priced at $250, which can go up to $300 depending on the strap one decides to get. The LG G Watch R holds a $300 price tag.
