The successor to the LG G2 pictured is due to be unveiled in a few weeks

LG Electronics has sent out invitations for an event on May 27, which would be the launch of the LG G3.

LG is set to hold simultaneous launch events in six cities – London, New York, San Francisco. The launch in Singapore, Istanbual and Seoul will take place on May 28. The invitation quoted great American poet Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To be simple is to be Great".

The tagline provided some hints about the launch. The letter G was bold and highlighted hinting that the next generation of LG G series is on its way. Moreover, consumers can expect that the device will sport a classic yet sophisticated design as the tagline said "simple".

LG has not announced the official specs and features of the LG G3 and it was assumed that the handset will be a fierce competitor in the smartphone market. Below are the five reasons why you should take a look at LG G3 on its release date later this month.

5.5 Inch qHD Screen Display

It was rumored that LG G3 will sport a 5.5 inch qHD screen display. Quad HD or 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution is the next direction of smartphones. This will offer better viewing screen.

Octa Core Processor

Some rumors claimed that LG G3 will pack either a quad or octa core processor. This will yield to better and faster processing power to handle tasks.

13MP or 16MP Back Camera

LG G3 was supposed to pack either a 13MP or 16MP camera at the back supported by Optical Imaging Stabilization software. The handset will also pack a 2.1MP front facing camera.

Fingerprint Sensor

Just like the big players in the smartphone market, iPhone 5S and Samsung Galaxy S5, LG G3 will also pack a fingerprint scanner for added security.

Waterproof Feature

It seemed that waterproof certification is also a must for current smartphones. Water resistant feature started with Sony Xperia phones and was quickly adapted by other handsets.
