The release of the LG G4 smartphone is now set in April, according to latest reports. An unnamed LG insider revealed to Korean media source Korea Times that the tech company is skipping the upcoming Mobile World Congress in March for a later launch to avoid conflict with other OEMs. 

A number of high-end smartphones is set to be presented at the MWC trade show, battling for attention at the said event. Samsung and HTC are only two of the mobile manufacturers confirmed to take part in the electronics event. The insider hinted that LG has no plans to share the spotlight with another smartphone or another company even if it means delaying the launch of its own produc; hence, the April release date. 

This slightly makes sense since last year's LG G3 was released in May 2014, suggesting that LG will follow the same release date pattern. Moreover, an unnamed LG executive told Korean news source The Chosun Ilbo that the company is currently "perfecting" the smartphone. 

"We rolled out the G3 in May last year so we do not plan to unveil the G4 at this year's Mobile World Congress and spend more time perfecting the new phone," the executive said.

As for the specs, the LG G4 is rumored to pack features such as 5-inch quad HD screen display, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor, bigger RAM, Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, 16- to 20-megapixel rear shooter, and longer battery life. 

In addition, MyLGPhones previously leaked that the LG G4 will first head to the three major mobile carriers in its home court in South Korea, backed up by a snippet of a leaked XML file. Based on the leaked file, the smartphone will have LG-F500S, LG-F500K and LG-F500L versions. The suffixes in the model number pertain to the carriers. 

However, LG has not yet revealed the official specs and features as well as the release date of the handset.
