LG G5 release, specs, features: LG's newest flagship starts shipping out today

LG fans have reasons to celebrate the start of April as the tech giant's newest flagship, the LG G5, starts shipping out today.

The rollout schedule was already confirmed as early as last month. However, the April 1 shipping date, although considered the start of the LG G5's shipping to the United States and elsewhere, is already the second day of release for some Asian markets, particularly LG's South Korea backyard.

The shipping dates are part of the staggered release of the LG G5. According to reports, there is still another release date to tick off the list as the LG G5 ships out to the U.K. on April 8. Canada fans, meanwhile, have yet to be told when to expect the new flagship.

Meanwhile, although April 1 is the scheduled release of the LG G5 in the United States, some carriers have already made pre-orders go live as early as last week. In addition, it is also said that some pre-orders have jumped the gun and started shipping out the G5 earlier than the April 1 schedule.

According to Greenbot, some subscribers of AT&T and T-Mobile posted online that they have already received notifications that their LG G5 orders are on the way, much earlier than today's schedule. While it remains unclear if the reports are from confirmed carrier subscribers, TechTimes said that it may be plausible, particularly for T-Mobile. Previously, the major U.S. carrier was also one of the very first to ship out the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge as early as Feb. 29, weeks before the scheduled early March release.

The LG G5 is one of the most anticipated flagship releases for the year due to the hype it created when it was announced. According to LG, the new flagship has a modular design and a "Magic Slot" which expands the iteration's features with a number of add-on modules.
