The LG G7 is among the premium handsets expected to be unveiled by the South Korean tech giant this 2018. LG has yet to announce the major features of its upcoming flagship phone, although several reports have already surfaced, suggesting the LG G7 to sport a full screen display similar to its predecessor, as well as an upgraded iris scanner and Qualcomm's latest top-end chipset.

The rumors are rife that the LG G7 will sport the same full view front design, just like its predecessor. Specifically, the wider screen view and slimmer bezels would amount to 18:9 aspect ratio, which was first featured by the LG G6. It will not be surprising if the next G series handset will continue the streak of full screen feature from LG, as the company is among the first to introduce the concept of bezel-less display.

Aside from an all-screen display, the main highlight of the LG G7 based on the leaks is the advanced iris scanner technology. This scoop was taken from a leaked patent application that indicates a different method of unlocking the device using the iris scanner. For one, the biometric reader will receive extra features such as measuring the size of the user's iris and adjusting the brightness of the screen to complement the current ambient light. Likewise, the advanced iris scanner would also protect specific applications and files stored in the device.

Meanwhile, the LG G7 was spotted on a list of devices allegedly receiving the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip this year. The list was leaked in the Chinese social networking site Weibo, giving the public an idea regarding the 2018 flagship phones making the jump from the current Snapdragon 835 processor. The Snapdragon 845 will provide significant boost in speed and performance of the LG G7, as well as improved power saving feature.

The LG G7 is expected to arrive this February, possibly at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) expo in Barcelona.
