South Korean tech company, LG, is introducing an ultra-light laptop, which is being claimed to be the lightest 15-inch laptop in the world.

In preparation for CES 2016, happening in January of next year, LG is slowly bringing out some of its new devices, including a new 15-inch display variant of Gram, called the LG Gram 15. According to PR Newswire, the new 15-inch laptop variant weighs less than a kilogram, only tipping in 980 grams on a weighing scale.

The 11-inch Macbook Air is Apple's lightest laptop, weighing 1.08 kilograms, and the 13-inch follows with 1.35 kilograms. That makes the LG Gram 100 grams lighter than the 11-inch MacBook Air and 370 grams lighter than the 13-inch variant of the Apple device.

The Gram 15 will be integrated with the latest Skylake processors, and not the Broadwell Core i5 and i7 that run the Gram 13 and Gram 14. The ultra-light laptop will also be equipped with Windows 10 as the device's operating system.

It's important to remember that the LG Gram 14 also currently weighs 980 grams, which means that the LG Gram 15 may potentially sport an even much thinner design. The covering of the Gram laptops are made of advanced Carbon magnesium and lithium magnesium material, and there's no reason that the Gram 15 should be made of anything less quality.

In addition to the ultra-light laptop, LG also intends to display their latest 34-inch IPS display monitor with 21:9 aspect ratio. The gigantic computer screen brags a 3440 x 1440 pixel screen resolution on a curved display and Thunderbolt 2 ports, making it perfect for creatives such as designers and video editors.

CES is the biggest consumer tech show of the year. The upcoming giant tech fair will be held in Las Vegas on Jan. 6 to 9, 2016, with pre-event shows happening on the 4th and 5th. Hundreds of tech companies are expected to be in attendance.
