As the LG G7 is no longer expected to appear at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) next week, the public will not see a flagship smartphone coming from the South Korean tech firm anytime soon. However, LG will not come empty-handed at the MWC 2018, as the company is set to unveil two brand-new midrange handsets. Prior to the official launch of these new hardware next week, LG has shared a few details about the 2018 version of the LG K8 and K10 smartphones.

Back in 2017, the LG had introduced the midrange K series smartphones. Similar to their predecessors, the 2018 version of the LG K8 and K10 will stick with the series' signature design, although users can expect some major specs upgrade. The LG K8 and K10 2018 will hit the markets in Europe, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East following the MWC reveal. As reported by 9to5Google, the midrange devices will come in three colors, namely black, gold and blue, upon their launch. LG has yet to give the details regarding the price and release date, which are likely to be announced next week.

LG has shared that the 2018 LG K8 and K10 smartphones will run the Android 7.1.2 Nougat update out of the box. Both midrange handsets will receive a few updated camera features, including the addition of a flashing timer in setting up a group capture," as well as the enhanced noise reduction for pictures taken in low-light conditions. There is also a new camera feature called the "Flash Jump Shot," which collates up to 20 photos that are taken consecutively to form a GIF image.

The LG K10 2018 is listed to be made of metal frame and plastic material at the back, and sporting a 5.3-inch front display. The smartphone will sport a 13 MP single-lens rear camera and 8 MP front camera. A fingerprint reader is also placed below the screen. The LG K10 is packed with a 1.5 GHz octa-core chipset with 2 GB of random-access memory (RAM) and 16 GB of built-in storage. The device also includes a 3,000 mAh battery.

On the other hand, the all-new LG K8 will have a smaller 5-inch display and packed with a quad-core processor. Same as the K10 variant, the handset will sport 8 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera. The LG K8 will receive a 2,500 mAh battery.
