LG LV5 specs rumors, release date: Render image leaked; company developing new mid-range phone?

The LG V20 is scheduled to be released this month, while speculations arise on an alleged LV5 model.LG official website

LG already released two flagship models for 2016. Now, it is rumored that the company is working on the LV5, a mid-range phone. A rendered image was also posted online.

Prominent leaker OnLeaks recently posted on Twitter what the LG LV5 would look like. He added the caption, "Awaiting a fresh new flagship leak, this is roughly what the upcoming #LGLV5 (moniker TBC) looks like..."

The alleged device is shaped like the G5, and its top-front glass curves towards the edge. But aside from that, there is nothing much to see at the front. The back panel shows a regular camera at the center-top most portion. It has an LED flash underneath the camera and a fingerprint scanner below it. A two-piece cut-out is also visible at the bottom portion, which is believed to be for the speakers.

It is suggested that the back panel is removable, and the battery might be removable as well. However, the post lacks the details of its specifications, thus it remains unknown if this really is a mid-range phone. The community expects more information to arrive in the following months.

LG unveiled its premium V20 model last month, and it will be made available later this month. The V20 is a 5.7-inch device with an IPS Quad HD display that also contains a longer and brighter ticker screen. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core chip with a clock speed of 2.15 GHz. The device also has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage that is expandable to up to 2 TB via a microSD card.

The flagship phone also comes with a dual camera system. It has a 16 MP OIS main camera, which is equipped with laser and phase-detection autofocus, and a wide-angle 135-degree 8 MP camera serves as its secondary lens. A 5 MP camera is located at the front.

The main feature of the LG V20 is its audio capability. It is equipped with four hi-fi DACs that will offer lossless audio playback. This is considered a holy grail for the music aficionados. This is then protected by an aluminum alloy case.
