Irish Hollywood actor Liam Neeson has recently spoken out about the #MeToo movement, describing the movement as a "Witch Hunt." This has caused people around the world to take offense at some of the statements made by the 65-year-old actor, and is now under public scrutiny.

Neeson recently appeared on "The Late Late Show," wherein the Irish actor voiced out his opinions about the trend of taking down abusive and corrupt high-profile men in the entertainment business that has been rampant ever since the news of Harvey Weinstein's misdeeds erupted. Neeson came to the defense of fellow actor Dustin Hoffman, who is one of the people also accused by several women of sexual harassment.

Things took a turn when Neeson stated that he is unsure what to make of the case of Hoffman, and described Hoffman's actions as "childhood stuff," referring to one of the incidents wherein Hoffman touched a woman's breast while he was preparing to shoot one of his films in the past.

The context of Neeson's statement was brought forth during a conversation about superstitious beliefs in getting ready to act when the cameras are rolling, and Neeson hypothesized that maybe touching another woman's breast is one of Hoffman's practices. Incidentally, citizens of the internet were not pleased by Neeson's comments, and have voiced out their distaste for them.

It is important to mention that when one of the hosts, Ryan Tubridy, discussed the relevance and importance of the women's movement, Nesson stated that he agrees with the ideology and recognizes that it is something that needs to happen. Neeson even mentioned that he is a "proud" UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, and has a lot of knowledge on the injustice that women experience all around the world.

However, the statement in itself is not clear enough for the citizens to stop criticizing Neeson.
