Actor Liam Neeson may be quitting action movies sooner than expected. In a report by The Hollywood Reporter, he said in an interview that his stint in action flicks may come to an end in just two years.

"Maybe two more years. If God spares me and I'm healthy," Neeson said in the interview. "But after that, I'll stop the action I think." 

"I'm in a very, career-wise, great place," he continued. "The success of certainly the Taken films, Hollywood seems to see me in a different light. I get sent quite a few action-oriented scripts, which is great. I'm not knocking it. It's very flattering. But there is a limit, of course." 

It was speculated a few years ago that he would eventually make an appearance in any of the "Expendables" films but those rumors have been shot down. The 62-year old actor hasn't been in any of the three films. 

One of his earliest appearances that made an impact was in 1981's "Excalibur" where he played the role of Gawain. His big break was in the Steven Spielberg 1993 hit "Schindler's List," followed by his portrayal of Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn in 1999's "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace." 

Neeson's stride in non-stop action movies began in 2008 with the release of "Taken." The movie spawned two sequels and has influenced the turn of his career. Since then he starred in other big action movies such as "The A-Team", "The Grey", and "Non-Stop." 

While promoting "Taken 3," he stated, "I'll start playing dads or grandfathers. But I keep myself pretty fit and my knees are still great. And it's fun." 

His latest film, "Run All Night," will be another action movie. It may not yet be his last but the actor has been on the record stating his intention to move on to other types of roles as he gets older. While not necessary a pure action film, Neeson will be starring in the upcoming historic-epic "Silence" by Martin Scorsese.
