DONTNOD Entertainment, the company responsible for "Life is Strange," has officially announced that there would be a sequel to the critically successful film. The announcement was made via short video featuring Michael Koch, Raoul Barbet and Luc Baghadoust, three of the creators of "Life is Strange."

The video began with the three expressing their gratitude to the fans for their overwhelming support of "Life is Strange." Soon after, they revealed that about three million people had already purchased the first "Life is Strange" game until finally they concluded the video by saying that they have already been working on a sequel following the release of the first game back in January last year.

The trio did not divulge any further details regarding the sequel or whether or not they would be sticking to the episodic format that the first game had used or if they would be featuring the same cast of characters. Square Enix had promised last year that they would be partnering with Legendary Entertainment to adapt the game into a live action digital series but so far, this has yet to come into fruition.

In a blog post, DONTNOD Entertainment also said that the sequel would not be shown at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2017, which will take place in June, so that means fans of the game would just have to wait until the game is ready to be released.

Critics' reception of "Life is Strange" is overwhelmingly positive and most of the criticisms have been directed at the lip syncing fails of the characters and their dialogues. Hopefully, the developers would pay more attention to this issue as they continue developing "Life is Strange 2."

Regardless of the issue, though, fans have long been waiting for a follow up to the game. Thankfully, they would finally be getting what they want no matter how long they wait.
