When the ZTE Axon 7 was released in June, the smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer immediately impressed a lot of critics and consumers, and the reason is pretty much the same as with other ambitious smartphone offerings from a couple of big-name Chinese brands — the perfect combination of low price and premium hardware specs.

The Axon 7 has a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, not to mention a whopping 4 GB of random access memory (RAM). And now, ZTE may have recognized the growing popularity of this particular model, thereby helping the company decide that a limited edition ZTE Axon 7 has to be released, and it's even better than the first offering.

Per GSM Arena, the limited edition device comes with an improved 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The original version came with 64 GB of storage. And while all eyes are on what's inside, perhaps the more intriguing addition is the Force Touch panel, wherein more functionality should be expected in line with how the launcher is used.

Meanwhile, several aspects of the new phone remain the same, including the screen size, AMOLED panel, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow mobile operating system, a metal unibody construction, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Likewise, the 20-megapixel rear camera is retained, thus giving would-be buyers zero compromise should they decide to make the upgrade. Well, the only thing they'll need to make a sacrifice on is the price, considering that they'll have to pay $500 for it.

According to NDTV, the Limited Edition ZTE Axon 7 will be made available in the United States, although one can only purchase it through ZTE's official online store. To recall, the original model was made available with a $400 price tag, which means that the improved version is a hundred bucks costlier.
