Live Worship – II ’04 enthralls audience

On the evening of 11th July 2004, St. Thomas School, New Delhi, played the proud host to a worship and praise concert led by Dr. Tanmay and Dina Pramanik.

Live Worship – II ’04 was organised by the Bible Society of India, NWIA and the Global Christian Life Center, in association with churches in the capital. The event was held at the St. Thomas School auditorium that thronged with hundreds of worshippers and believers who had come to take part in the concert and praise the Lord.

Dr. Tanmay Pramanik, son of Dr. B.K. Pramanik, the General Secretary of BSI, is a talented musician and a dynamic preacher. Born in 1977, Tanmay was saved from the jaws of death when he was a child and answered the calling of Jesus in 1994, while attending a Leadership Training Camp at the Campus Crusade for Christ, India. Giving up his secular way of life, Tanmay dedicated his musical talent in serving God and His ministry. Tanmay has completed his Doctoral degrees in USA, and is currently serving as the Chair of Arts and Science and Director of Institutional Research and Planning at the Temple Baptist College in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The worship concert began with Rev. Enos Das Pradhan, the General Secretary of CNI offering the opening prayers. Thereafter, Mr. Richard Khan, the Auxiliary Secretary of BSI, NWAI, introduced the distinguished guests who were present including Bishop Karam Masih of Delhi Diocese, CNI and the President of BSI, NWAI and Mrs. Manoharan, the principal of St. Thomas School, who had kindly consented to the use of the auditorium premises.

“If you have come here to be entertained, this is the wrong place. If you have come here to praise and worship the Lord with all your heart, then this is the right place, my friends,” said Tanmay as he took to the stage and gave a brief introduction about himself as well as testifying to the audience about the love and mercy of the Lord.

The worship concert began with a soulful rendition of “Come to Jesus” whose deep voice echoed the auditorium and filled the air with the grace of the Holy Spirit. The second song, “A Child in my Eyes,” lifted the audience to their feet as Tanmay went on to exhort, “Listen to the Word of God when He speaks to your heart.”

The third song, “Be the Glory” managed to keep the audience on their feet and Tanmay shared with them some of the most difficult times of his life but assuring that God never fails to comfort him, as he sang, “It is well,” with his wife, Dina Pramanik and the City Fellowship Choir.

A brief break during which BSI in association with AV Workshop Ltd. entertained the audience with a tour of the 200 years of Bible Society’s service to mankind by means of video presentation, was followed by the BSI Choir, taking the stage and singing some of the most popular Hindi gospels. Believer’s Church choir, led by Pastor Joseph also sang a gospel before Tanmay took to the stage again.

“We will dance,” Tanmay sang, making the audience sway to the beat, as he continued with other gospels like “He is Lord,” “The Wonderful Cross,” and the “Heart of Worship.”

“We come to thy presence to seek your forgiveness Father and to praise You and worship You,” Tanmay prayed as the Holy Spirit descended and poured down His grace and love into the hearts of everyone present. “We acknowledge Your Divine presence in our midst and we want to glorify Your name,” he continued.

As the atmosphere became sombre and holy, Tanmay continued with “We fall down,” and the ever-popular “Agnus Dei” that overwhelmed the audience, before finally concluding with “How Great Thou Art,” that was led by Pastor Sam Matthai of GCLC.

Bishop Karam Masih offered the closing prayers as he thanked the Lord for allowing such talented and young people to serve Him and His ministry.

Indeed, this worship concert proved highly sucessful and Dr. Tanmay Pramanik promised to return to Delhi again in the future to give the area a further opportunity to worship and praise the Lord.
