Lifetime debuted its new limited series called the Lizzie Borden Chronicles which stars Christina Ricci returning to the lead role of Lizzie Borden on Sunday, April 5 at 10 PM ET/PT.

The show will be an eight-part hour long series and picked off after the much celebrated double murder case of Lizzie's father and stepmother in 1892. On what to expect, the series picks off from Lizzie's acquittal and bring in varying fictional events.

Lizzie now finds herself as a celebrity and involved in scandalous love affairs after her acquittal. But the real twist comes in the brutal and mysterious deaths of Lizzie's close friends. With her link to the 1892 double murder case, a detective named Charlie Siringo (Cole Hauser) tries to link Lizzie to the murders.

Produced by Sony Pictures, joining Ricci and Hauser are Jessy Schram (for the part of Nancy O' Keefe) and John Heard (William Almy). Clea DuVall also returns to reprise the role of Lizzie's sister, Emma Borden. Emma is believed to be the actual mastermind behind the death of their parents.

Schram takes on the role of an actress and dancer who befriends Lizzie while Heard, who is best remembered from the HBO hit series 'The Sopranos', acts out as the business partner of Lizzie's dad, Andrew.

The series picks off from the movie Lizzie Borden Took An Ax back in January 25, 2014. The film had over 4.4 million viewers and was one of the most tweeted and watched program on television.

While the official word right now is that the Lizzie Borden Chronicles will have eight hour-long shows despite a previous announcement that the series would only have six hour long episodes.
