Hugh Jackman will reprise his role of Wolverine in the upcoming "Logan" movie, which is set to premiere on March 3, 2017. Meanwhile, there have been rumors that Professor X will allegedly die in "Logan."
According to Games Radar, it will be Jackman's last time to portray Wolverine in the upcoming "Logan" movie.
"Logan" is the second R-rated X-Men movie — following "Deadpool" — because the fight scenes have become more brutal. One example is Logan's claws protruding from the head of a soldier, as seen from the official trailer.
According to The Wrap, the setting of "Logan" is far in the future in 2024, where mutant births are rapidly declining and the remaining mutant children are hunted by a government operation named "Transigen" that want to transform them into soldiers.
Meanwhile, Logan is sick and has become an alcoholic. His healing abilities have digressed and it seems that there are times when his wounds don't heal at all. This was revealed when directo James Mangold revealed a page of the movie's script via a Twitter post.
Aside from Logan, Professor X (played by Patrick Stewart) has not aged well. His psychic abilities and his memory are constantly wavering, and Logan struggles to keep him alive.
Logan and Professor X will try to protect a young mutant named Laura, played by Sienna Novikov. Laura has the same abilities Logan does: regenerative healing, super strength, speed, heightened senses, and retractable adamantium-coated bone claws in her hands and feet, except she only has two claws instead of three. Laura is also known as X-23 from the Marvel Comics series of "X-Men."
Meanwhile, Comic Book speculates that Professor X will die in "Logan."
In the official trailer, the Professor had a short scene where he was exerting all his powers and has appeared to have created an explosion. Near the end, Logan was holding a shovel with only Laura by his side.
This caused speculations that Logan buried Professor X after he sacrificed his life to save Logan and Laura from the soldiers that were hunting them.
"Logan" is set to premiere on March 3, 2017.
