'Longmire' season 6 renewal news, spoilers: Vic and Walt to get together at last?

Prior to the premiere of "Longmire" season 5, it was heavily rumored that Walt (Robert Taylor) and Vic (Katee Sackhoff) will get together. It looks like season 6 will make that happen instead.

Although a "Longmire" season 6 renewal is still hanging in the balance, media outlets and fans of the series are confident that Netflix is not ready to pull the plug on the series yet.

This is not just because the previous season of "Longmire" ended with a cliffhanger where Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) found himself in a life-or-death situation, but because it also set up a full-on romantic connection between Vic and Walt.

Fans knew that Walt and Donna's (Ally Walker) relationship had an expiration date, which they reached last season as the two finally called it quits.

However, another hurdle arises in "Longmire" season 6 in the form of Vic's pregnancy. Despite this issue, the show may have already put itself in a point of no return as far as the Vic–Walt romance is concerned.

In the "Longmire" books by Craig Johnson, it was Vic and Walt who end up together. The show could be looking to go that direction as well.

After all, the way things ended in season 5, "Longmire" season 6 has nowhere to go but making a couple out of Vic and Walt. However, IGN notes that the pregnancy could make or break this as it can also pave the way for a completely different take on the characters.

The romance between the two has been hinted at not only in the previous season but also in the fourth season, where sexual tension between the two is present.

Neither of them wants or tries to acknowledge it, especially with Walt who is not the type who likes to talks about his feelings. "Longmire" season 6, however, might change that.

Netflix has yet to confirm the renewal of the show, though, so fans will just have to wait and see. The fifth season, released late last month, is still available for streaming.
