"Longmire" was cancelled by A&E after airing its season 3 finale due to the show reportedly having older viewers in a network that focuses on advertising to younger audiences. The show was picked up by Netflix and the streaming service has now officially launched the show' fourth season.  

Unlike cable television, Netflix subscribers can watch one episode after another instead of having to wait another week or two to watch the next episode. Moreover, for those who have not yet seen the previous seasons of "Longmire," seasons 1 to 3 are currently available for streaming on the streaming service. As with their new shows, all of the episodes are available so subscribers can binge-watch for as long as they desire. This will give them time to catch up before moving on to watch season 4. 

"Longmire" season 3 ended with the titular character Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) learning that his wife's death happened in the hands of Nighthorse (A. Martinez), a fact he will need to confront in season 4. The finale also ended with a cliffhanger as Branch (Bailey Chase) and Barlow (Gerald McRaney) fired a shot but it was not revealed who was hit.

According to a report from Collider, season 4 will end certain plotlines which will cause "ripples" and consequences that will open the doors for new stories in case the show is carried forward for a fifth season. Netflix has not yet given any confirmation at this point if "Longmire" will indeed be renewed for a fifth season. 

Netflix subscription costs $7.99 per month although newcomers are welcome to a one-month free trial. The streaming service is available for those online through their PC's and laptops but it is also widely used via smart TV's, tablets, smart phones and even through gaming consoles.
