The wishes of the ever-loyal fans of "Longmire" have been granted after they learned that late last month, Netflix gave the go-signal for season 5.

The critically acclaimed Western-inspired police procedural drama has been saved once again by the popular streaming website after its original network A&E cancelled the series after season 3. Netflix then aired 10 episodes of the show's highly anticipated fourth season.

But not long after "Longmire" season 4 was uploaded on the livestream service provider's page, Netflix decided to give the green light for the show's next installment and announced it via Facebook, saying: "We've never been one to back down from a fight. Longmire will return to Netflix for Season 5."

Fans were glad to have heard the news, especially since the producers of the show gave a haunting cliffhanger at the end of the season that involves Lou Diamond Phillips' character Henry Standing Bear.

In an interview with Variety, Phillips talked about the surprising cliffhanger at the end of season 4 considering that there was no assurance that they will return next season. According to the actor, that unexpected move from the producers just proved that they were very optimistic about being ordered for season 5.

Phillips also shared his thoughts about the show now that it is on a livestream internet platform.

"We were previously constrained to 42 minutes and as a result, a lot of my work hit the floor. With an additional 20 minutes, we can let those moments breathe and round out those characters and it's a much more cinematic experience episode to episode," the actor shared.

Aside from Phillips, "Longmire" stars Robert Taylor who portrays the role of Sheriff Walt Longmire. Other cast members include Katee Sackhoff, Cassidy Freeman, and Adam Bartley.
