"Longmire" season 5 will be premiering on Netflix this coming September. Actor Lou Diamond Phillips has shared the first sneak peek of the show during an interview with Access Hollywood, where he also gave insight into what direction his character is going and what this could mean for Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor).

In the sneak peek video, Henry (Phillips) is not being dragged into jail as the season 4 finale hinted and instead he and Matthias (Zahn McClarnon) are out in the open where no one would hear them and attempt to strike some form of deal where the former would be working for the latter.

"The last we saw, Henry was being carted off to jail by Zahn McClarnon, who plays Mathias. In that scene, you will see what happens - if they cut a deal. Henry will be continuing his dual role as Hector, the sort-of vigilante, justice-bringer for the reservation, which will put him at odds with Walt Longmire, his best friend," Phillips explained.

As stated in a report from Cartermatt, the friendship between Walt and Henry is one of the main cornerstones of the series as both are attempting to do the right thing and get the same results but resort to different methods. Many times the choices Henry make are not to Walt's liking and this is what causes sparks of conflict between the two.

It has also been previously reported that actress Katee Sackhoff released the first photo of the fifth season and it has caused fans to speculate if her character, Vic, and Walt were finally going to become a couple just as they are in the original books. When season 4 ended, this relationship was not even teased as Walt was spending his night with Dr. Monaghan (Ally Walker).

"Longmire" season 5 will premiere this Sept. 23. All four previous seasons are already available on Netflix.
