"Longmire" season 4 ended with a sudden cliffhanger when an intruder broke into Walt's (Robert Taylor) home just as he was having an intimate moment with Dr. Monaghan (Ally Walker). By season 5, Walt will not only have to deal with this new threat but also with his best friend, Henry (Lou Diamond Phillips), as their friendship goes downhill.

Speaking to Access Hollywood Live, Phillips explained that Henry isn't going straight to jail despite how the events in season 4 played out. During the interview a short video clip was aired, showcasing Henry making a deal with Mathias (Zahn McClarnon). This deal will prevent Henry from going to jail but it may force him to do things that Walt wouldn't like.

"Henry will be continuing his dual role as Hector, the sort-of vigilante, justice-bringer for the reservation which will put him at odds with Walt Longmire, his best friend," the actor explained.

The two characters have been at odds before but it is speculated that this could be the worse obstacle wedged between them as it may cause Walt and Henry to actually fight each other. Vine Report states that many fans speculate it may lead to Henry causing a car accident that could gravely injure Walt.

According to the report, the two may even be fighting over Vic (Katee Sackhoff). While Vic and Walt are only friends in the show, they are written as a romantic couple in the original books and a recent photo shared by Katee Sackhoff via Instagram seems to indicate that the show may finally put Walt and Vic together.

There is no guarantee that Henry and Walt are going to fight over anything other than what Phillips hinted at but if the show adapts more stories from the books then it is possible Vic will become a factor between them.

"Longmire" season 5 premieres this Sept. 23.
