It looks like Netflix has finally given its nod to "Longmire" season 6. This is according to Sirius XM radio and television broadcaster Charles Adler.

He revealed the information in the latest run of "The Charles Adler Show," where he interviewed Craig Johnson, the author of the "Longmire" books that inspired the series.

"So anyone who's listened to me on this show knows how crazy I am about this Netflix show 'Longmire' and I'm happy to report that 'Longmire' has now been renewed for a sixth season," Adler said.

Although the fifth season was released almost a month ago, fans were starting to worry about the status of "Longmire" on Netflix as it is believed that the streaming giant will pull the plug on the series.

As fans will remember, "Longmire" was canceled by its original network, A&E, after season 3. Netflix then saved it and gave it a new home.

Many believed that the show will only last a season on the online streaming service network, but this obviously was not the case as the fifth season just launched, and fans already looking forward to "Longmire" season 6.

It was expected that a renewal was planned all along as season 5 ended with cliffhangers, which had fans at the edge of their seats with Henry Standing Bear's (Lou Diamond Phillips) life on the line.

The previous season also established the long-awaited romance between Vic (Katee Sackhoff) and Walt (Robert Taylor). There has always been sexual tension between the two, but neither of the two wants to acknowledge it.

However, the pregnancy of Vic is one big hurdle for this to progress. "Longmire' season 6 is expected to explore this, especially with the identity of her baby's father still unknown.

Netflix has yet to make an official announcement for "Longmire" season 6, although fans should hear about it sooner rather than later.

"Longmire" season 6 is expected to premiere in September next year.
