Though the sixth season of "Longmire" is expected to see its release on Netflix next year, the question still remains as to when exactly the popular crime drama series will air on the online streaming service network.

In a recent report, Carter Matt analyzes the possible months of release for "Longmire" season 6 next year. Back when the crime series aired its fourth season, fans will remember that the show returned with the new batch of episodes on a Friday, on the tenth of September. According to Matt, the season 4 release date was perfect for "Longmire" as television viewers could start getting into the series because not only was "Longmire" airing during the season of fall, it had come out during a time when summer shows were beginning to wrap up for the year. The schedule allowed viewers to focus on "Longmire" and gave fans a good deal of time to binge watch the series.

This year, though, season 5 of the series came a bit earlier, premiering on Sep. 23. The schedule has posed problems for the series since "Longmire" had more series to compete with as Netflix released "Luke Cage" a week after. Viewers couldn't direct their focus fully on the crime show with a great Marvel superhero series to distract them.

Now with the series taking up its final season, fans hope that Netflix could have season 6 premiere during a better time so that "Longmire" could have more focus. According to Matt, earlier in September would be good for the series finale of "Longmire."

Meanwhile, in other "Longmire" news, a new Twitter post from the official fan site of the crime series confirms that season 6 of "Longmire" would definitely be its last. Fans have been hoping that the series would last a bit longer on Netflix, however it seems like the crime drama is definitely nearing its end.
