In a post on her official Twitter account last week, Lorde shared that she already "made some of the most exciting breakthroughs" on her second album during a solo trip to the wilderness for three days.

According to Music Times, the singer took a helicopter into the wilderness and stayed there for days alone to be able to write songs for her next album.

Although Lorde has been generous about sharing her creative process to come up with her next album, details about the release date of her follow-up to "Pure Heroine" remain scarce.

Earlier this year, the New Zealand singer even shared that she has already come up with a title for her upcoming album, which she said she already whispered to her mom.

While writing songs for her next album, Lorde was featured on English electronic music duo Disclosure's album entitled "Caracal." The band's single "Magnets" featured the young female singer.

Lorde also helped in putting together the soundtrack for the popular young adult action film, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part One." She contributed several originals and collaborations in the movie soundtrack.

Lorde also performed a "Life on Mars?" tribute at the Brit Awards following David Bowie's death. The performance was praised by Bowie's son, Duncan Jones, in one of his Twitter posts.
