Will the Los Angeles Clippers actually trade Chris Paul?

That's one of the questions on the minds of many National Basketball Association (NBA) fans right now as the 2015–16 season rolls on, and while the notion may seem outlandish at first, there's a case to be made for Paul to be shipped out of Los Angeles in favor of new players.

The case for trading Paul is simple, and that's because there's a growing belief that the Clippers may have already peaked with him.

As The Inquisitr reported, the Clippers have so far been unable to make it to the NBA Finals with Paul as their starting point guard. In fact, the team has yet to even make the Western Conference Finals with him as their lead guard.

Paul is also 30 years old, and set to turn 31 in May. The fact that Paul is soon to be on the other side of 30 is yet another reason to potentially trade him.

As Paul enters his early 30s, it's not difficult to imagine the guard getting injured more often, and that would obviously be problematic for a Clippers team that relies on him to make its offense hum.

Still, trading away a player of Paul's caliber is a tall task, mainly because getting equal value for him is nearly impossible.

Regardless of whether or not the Los Angeles Clippers deal Paul, the team may still be looking at numerous trades leading up to this year's trading deadline.

The team has already made one trade this season.

As Yahoo Sports reported, the Los Angeles Clippers dealt forward Josh Smith and the draft rights to Sergei Lishouk to the Houston Rockets in exchange for the draft rights to Maarty Leunen in a deal completed last week.

The Smith trade may not be the only move the Clippers make this year, and there's at least a chance that Paul could also be an ex-Clipper before the season is over.
