With no end to the Los Angeles Lakers' woes in sight, it may be the time to sit down and discuss the actual direction the team is headed to. And expected to shed some light and detail the roadmap is none other than head coach Byron Scott.

Scott has, of course, drawn the ire of fans for his actual intentions for the ball club as of late. Although losing some games in the current season wasn't counted out, it is the fact that the team has been faring badly.

At just 3–20 as of this writing, the Lakers are well on their way to their third sorry season and progress doesn't appear to be showing. For Scott, it marks the second consecutive season that he is at the helm so it may be time to see what his plans really are.

Contrary to the belief of many that Scott will soon be axed, such doesn't seem to be the case.

General Manager Mitch Kupchak has come out to admit that he is also to blame for the sorry state of the Lakers (per Lakers Nation), although the more important task at hand is finding the real reason on the Lakers' fortunes.

He adds that Scott will still have a full hand of controlling the team with no interference. And while they made such clear, it remains that Kupchak and president of basketball operations Jim Buss have to see first what the former Laker guard has up his sleeve.

So far, Scott has seemingly tried to balance development and winning but has obviously failed. He reiterated that wins are still a priority, which somehow douses all hope of seeing young players D'Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson, and Julius Randle getting crucial minutes and experience.

He still wanted Kobe Bryant on the floor despite the fact that the Black Mamba is nowhere near his old self. Had Bryant not announced his retirement, chances are Scott would continue to play him and wait for an explosion that Bryant did in the good old days.

Now, he may want to rethink that strategy.
