Mendeecees Harris has checked into prison to start his 8-year prison sentence. According to Young, Black & Fabulous, the "Love & Hip Hop" star reported to the Federal Correctional Institution Allenwood in Pennsylvania to serve his time due to federal drug charges.

TMZ reports that the minimum security prison allows inmates to watch TV and that the meal program is"top notch" as they get something different everyday for 8 weeks. The website says that since Harris has already served 15 months for his crime, he only has less than 7 years to spend in jail.

On Tuesday, Jan. 19, the reality star took to Instagram and posted a picture of him with his family. The outing appears to be the last night that the star spent with his loved ones before reporting to prison, as he captioned the photo, "Dinner with the fam Last Meal Until I Return."

Harris posted another picture with his son and some of his male relatives and friends and wrote, "Either way it goes they gonna be there!!"

On Wednesday, the 37-year-old took to the photo sharing site again to post one last message for his fans. The message was accompanied by a photo of Harris sitting on top of the trunk of a black car, and he dedicated the post to those who have supported him through this difficult time.

In the post, Harris said that he never thought that he would be given a chance to influence a generation as he had "no college degrees" or "huge resume of internships and jobs."

"I was the one with nothing, no push to go to school, no dinner on the table at night, no kiss goodbye in the morning," he continued.

He also called for fathers to raise men who would lead their family and who would choose to do the right thing.

"I could go on for days but I want y'all to know I'm good," he said. He also asked his fans to keep his family in their prayers and said that he will keep them updated through his brother, who will be running his social media accounts while he serves his prison sentence.

Harris pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess heroin and cocaine back in April. He is married to fellow "Love & Hip Hop" star Yandy Smith. The couple have two children together, a son, Omere, and daughter Skyler.
