Love tips: How husbands can make their wives feel happy, contented and loved
Marriage is a wonderful thing, but sometimes things can get a little lonely or sour for some couples, especially if they don't take care of one another. More often than not, wives feel neglected because their husbands are too busy with work or are more interested to hang out with their friends.
As a solution, All Pro Dad—a group of people on a mission to help fathers love and lead their family well and be a hero to their kids—compiled a list of 10 reminders for husbands to do to make their wives feel happy, contented, and loved.
In its website (allprodad.com), the group said the first thing husbands should do is to learn their wives' love language, then use it every day. People express and interpret love in a different way, so husbands should take note of the best way they can show their wives they love them, it said.
The group's second advice is for husbands to date their wives at least once a month. The noted that it's important for wives to feel excited to go out on a date with their husbands, and their dates should be used to reconnect with one another.
The group's third tip is for husbands to make their wives feel special, and never to take the relationship for granted. "If you haven't done something to demonstrate how special she is in the past four hours, then you've already waited too long," All Pro Dad said, suggesting an "I love you" phone call, a surprise card slipped in the purse, or a midweek lunch date.
The fourth step, according to the group, is to use some imagination to liven up the marriage, be it by planning events, dates, evenings at home or vacations. Of course, to do all of these things, husbands should take care of themselves so they can properly please their wives.
As the fifth step, husbands should check the scales, get some exercise, and take note of how they dress.
The sixth thing is to say "I love you" often, the group said. A lot of men don't say it, thinking that their wives already know. But All Pro Dad said wives love to hear the expression nonetheless.
Kindness is often undervalued, but it's the seventh most important thing to keep love aflame in marriage, All Pro Dad said. When husbands are kind to their wives, their kindness will definitely be appreciated and reciprocated. In the same vein, husbands should be gentlemen in every way—they should open the door for their wives, walk on the street side of the walkway, run to the car for her umbrella, and so on.
Women also love being reassured, so every time husbands gush about how beautiful their wives are, then they will also feel beautiful, the group said.
Lastly, it's important for couples to spend uninterrupted time together. "There are only 168 hours in each week—the number never varies," they said. "The amount of time we offer our relationships can appear like a vote as to how much we value the people we say we love. Romance, like anything worthwhile, is worth the investment of time and attention," All Pro Dad said.
