Things get messy as a reporter seeks revenge after finding out that his estranged wife, who is revealed to be Linda (Rachael Haris), has been sleeping with Lucifer (Tom Ellis). The safety and reputation of Lucifer is on the line, especially when a serial killer from his past resurfaces in the latest episode of FOX's fantasy police procedural comedy-drama "Lucifer" titled "Off the Record."

The episode is expected to focus on the past, and is going to feature a returning serial killer who could pose as a threat for Lucifer. "Off the Record" is one of the episodes filmed by the end of season 2 and will not have anything to do with the main story. It will be a standalone episode focused on the character of Linda.

The synopsis for the episode is also framed as though Lucifer actually cared for his reputation. This does not seem to be in line with past episodes such as "Candy Morningstar," and all other crazy stunts Lucifer has pulled off since the beginning of the series. However, he may avoid all the frivolity and focus on what matters for Linda as she has become an important part of his life.

The promo for "Off the Record" shows the revenge-seeking journalist talking to Lucifer about writing a story on him. Moments later, he is held at knife point and is warned to leave Lucifer Morningstar alone, otherwise, he will be too dead to regret it. However, he is expected to take the threat lightly and carry on with his mission against Lucifer.

FOX took the last four episodes from "Lucifer" season 2 and added them to season 3. The show was renewed for season 3, but got a "back-nine" order bringing the episode total to 22 when it was only planned for an 18-episode arc. The four extra episodes are considered standalone and revolve around character studies.

"Lucifer" season 3 episode 7 will air on Monday, Nov. 13 at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
