Speaking on Premier Christian Radio’s Men@Work show this week, the “Shout” singer said she does not affiliate herself to a particular religion but believes in a God who loves.

“A relationship with a loving God is the only important thing,” she said.

“If I feel a connection with God, I feel love. Everything works, everything is just fine.”

Although Lulu’s career brought her fame and wealth, she has always tried to keep her feet grounded and not take herself too seriously.

“Ultimately we’re all special, but you can’t think that you’re more special than anyone else.”

Lulu is best known for the title song of the James Bond film, The Man with the Golden Gun, and her first hit, “Shout”.

She has also collaborated with some of the biggest names in music, including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Dusty Springfield, Burt Bacharach and Tom Jones.

“I was the luckiest girl,” she said. “To be working with those people and to have been thrown into the spotlight, that’s the difficult part.

“But then there’s the luck part. I have to say thank you God, thank you God, thank you God.”
