Lumia 730 vs Sony Xperia C3: Selfie phone specs comparison

One of the main considerations of consumers — particularly the younger market — when buying their new smartphones is its camera features.  This is why mobile manufacturers continuously develop new devices to provide superb camera capabilities without having to set high-end prices.

Both Sony and Lumia manufacturers recognize this particular need. These companies have created new smartphone lines that offer amazing cameras in their latest devices.

Before Microsoft completely took over the Lumia line from Nokia, the Finnish company released its final product called the Lumia 730. It is dubbed as an ideal device for taking selfies. It even managed to squeeze in 1151 people into a single selfie shot, which earned a world record for that feat.

However, Japanese electronics brand Sony is competing with Lumia as the ultimate selfie phone manufacturer with its Xperia C3 device. Released just a month earlier than the Lumia 730, the smartphone is still one of the favorites by the younger market.

But which of these two affordable mid-range smartphones provides the best selfie shots for consumers?  Here is a detailed comparison between the two smartphones.

Design:

The Nokia Lumia 730 appeals better to the younger crowd because of its bright colors and vibrant design, which is the signature of all Lumia varieties. Owners can also interchange the back plastic cover to provide more personality to their smartphones.

On the other hand, the Xperia C3 looks like the usual Sony Xperia products, with metal side panels and plastic body. Consumers can pick among different color options, including the usual black, white, as well as mint.

Under the hood:

Both devices have the same internal features, such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset, quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU, and Adreno 305. They also have the same 8 GB internal memory and 1 GB RAM, as well as expansion option through their respective built-in microSD slots.

However, the Lumia 730 runs using the Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1 operating system while the Xperia C3 runs using Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS.

Camera:

Both cameras have superb selfie capturing capacity, with 5-megapixel front-facing secondary cameras.

However, the primary camera of Sony's Xperia C3 has a slight edge, with its 8-megapixel shooter that has LED flash and autofocus capacity. On the other hand, Nokia's Lumia 730 features a 6.7-megapixel shooter with LED flash and autofocus feature.
