Former child star and American actor Macaulay Culkin has recently come forward to share his traumatic childhood experiences involving his father, Kit Culkin. The 37-year-old actor alleges that his father was a physically and psychologically abusive person, and was also jealous of the fame and success that his son received at a very young age.

The former child star shared his difficult childhood on the "WTF" podcast, which is hosted by Marc Maron. During the interview, Culkin stated that his father constantly threatened him even as a child, by saying things like "Do good, or I'll hit you." Culkin stated that the hostility that he had to endure from his father was due to extreme jealousy, and stated that his father also strived to become a successful actor.

However, Culkin was able to amass a lot of wealth and fame even before he turned 10 years old, which probably angered his father even more. Culkin even stated that he has the scars to prove just how abusive his father was in the past.

Culkin's parents filed for divorce shortly after he starred in the 1994 film "Richie Rich." Culkin stated that instead of being saddened by the divorce, he was glad that it actually happened because his parents took control of his massive wealth at that time. After the divorce was finalized, Culkin sued his parents at the age of 14, to take control of his finances that was estimated to be at $17 million at the time.

After the dust settled, Culkin decided that he wanted to take a break from acting. However, the divorce led Culkin to leave the entertainment business, and has never looked back since.

Culkin rose to fame after he starred in the two "Home Alone" films. And although he has been out of the acting game for more than two decades, he is still a prominent figure and personality, and is still sought after by his fans.
